Aida Rosa Valls
, age 97 of North Bergen, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24th, 2020.
Aida was born in Oriente, Cuba to the late Tito Sanchez and Antonia Martin. She immigrated to the United States in 1959, first settling in the Bronx, NY and later moved and called North Bergen her home for more than 52 years.
Aida was truly a high class woman who exemplified grace, dignity, compassion and love. She was the matriarch of her family and beloved by all those fortunate enough to know her. These traits earned her the family nickname “Mi Amor” and “El Presidente”. She had a passion for reading, cooking, mariachi and Cuban music, playing dominos, and watching her beloved New York Yankees.
She dedicated her entire life to others and gave selflessly. She enjoyed cooking traditional Cuban dishes and loved spending quality time with her cherished family, whether at larger gatherings or simply around the dinner table.
Her family is forever grateful for her example. Her presence will be missed, however her influence will live on through those she leaves behind.
Adia is predeceased by her beloved husband Mateo Valls, her daughter Xiomara Constante and many brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her loving daughter Sonia and husband Conrado Nunez. Adored grandmother to Cesar (wife Patricia), Monica (husband Fred), Veronica, Anthony, Alejandro, Guillermo (wife Lydia) and Yanett. A loving great grandmother to Amanda, Jake, Matthew, Melanie, Evan, Maison and Annie.
