, of West New York, age 96, passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2019 with family by his side.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rita. Devoted father of son Emile and wife Marianne, daughter Anne DiNatale (nee Chessari) and husband Michael. Emil is also survived by his loving grandchildren Jenna Tansey (nee Chessari), Evan Chessari, Dana Alex and Michael DiNatale Jr., and by his great grandchildren Robert, Charlie, Henry and Robert Michael.
He was born in West New York, NJ in 1922. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1940 and took his first job with Kreisler Jewelry manufacturers, makers of watch bands and costume jewelry, where he became an assistant foreman of the repair department. Like many Americans of that time he joined the Army/Air Force in 1942 and trained at the aerial gunner school in Laredo, Texas. He became a flight engineer and crew chief on B-24 planes. After his discharge in 1946, he went back to Kreisler as service manager until 1970. While working his day job, he also attended night school for watch making to become a watch maker and work for the trade. Emil joined the watch makers association in 1949. He was elected secretary from 1952-1954 then vice president in 1955. President from 1956 to 1961 and then again from 1972-1973. He was an accomplished banjo and bass fiddle player and has appeared on TV and radio shows in New York.
